History
In 1982 after a long and eventful history, Liebenstein castle was purchased in a completely derelict state along with the 7 hectares of land, from the municipality of Neckarwestheim. After all the nobility and knights today Liebenstein castle is owned by the German company, Sport-, Kultur- und Freizeitanlagen GmbH & Co. KG.The castle and its setting could already be seen again just shortly after the purchase. So far 5 million euros have been invested in the renovation and restoration of the buildings and 2.5 millions euros into creating the golf course. The crowning touch of the endeavours was heralded in 1996 with the inauguration of the club house.
Today the golf course, castle hotel with bar, chapel and the keep (which can now be accessed again) are a successful example of preservation, sports leisure facilities and cultural commitment.
